Propane Fireplace Heaters

One of the most comforting images that comes to mind when the weather starts to cool down is a warm and inviting fireplace. Fireplaces provide a source of heat as well as beauty, however, they can be somewhat difficult to maintain. Between stocking firewood and cleaning soot, you also have to worry about chimney cleaning and other tiresome, and potentially costly, maintenance items. A propane heater, on the other hand, can provide the same amount of comforting heat, if not more, than a wood burning fireplace. The thought of curling up with a good book in front of a propane heater, however, may not seem as inviting. The perfect solutions, combining both efficiency and effectiveness, are propane fireplace heaters.

What Are Propane Fireplace Heaters?

A propane fireplace is, at first glance, no different than a traditional wood burning fireplace. The logs, however, are made of ceramic instead of wood, the flames are typically a lighting illusion, and the warmth is generated from propane gas that has been ignited, as opposed to a log that is being burned. The ceramic logs are designed to look and feel like actual wood logs that you would find in a traditional fireplace. They are made from ceramic because of the materials ability to withstand high temperatures, as well as being able to radiate heat effectively. The fireplace is tied to an external propane source, typically a tank on the outer wall of the house, and uses propane to create a clean burning source of heat.

What Are The Benefits Of Propane Fireplace Heaters?

The primary benefit of a propane field fireplace is the ease of use couple with the low maintenance factor. The major task involved with a propane fireplace is refilling the tank on occasion and dusting the logs every few weeks or so. There is no firewood to chop, haul, and store. There are no ashes or soot to cleanup. There is no chimney buildup to worry about. A propane fireplace provides all of the beauty of a traditional fireplace, with none of the hassle. While some people may feel that a propane fireplace isn't as comforting as a traditional wood burning fireplace, they often change their minds when they realize they can have a warm and comforting in their living room with just the flick of a switch, as opposed to having to load wood into the fireplace, make sure the kindling is in place, struggle to light the fire and get it started initially, and have to constantly adjust the logs and add new logs to keep the fire going. The convenience alone usually makes up for the fact that, on close inspection, you are using ceramic logs as opposed to wood ones.
