Propane Infrared Heaters
While many consumers are replacing their central air systems or portable electric heaters with a propane heater, the benefits of propane are beginning to garner much more attention than before. Propane is not only a clean burning fuel, it is also an economical alternative to standard portable heaters or heat pump systems. For small areas where heat is needed indoors, or even drafty areas outdoors, propane infrared heaters are a great way of providing comfort while saving costs.
What Are Propane Infrared Heaters?
Of all the types of portable infrared heaters on the market today, infrared heaters are probably the simplest to use and easiest to move from place to place, as needed. An infrared heater unit is mounted directly on top of a refillable and portable propane tank and requires no electricity. They are usually rectangular in shape and contain two to three heating elements. They containing an internal ignition which, when lit, ignites the propane gas, allowing it to burn and, in turn, heat the heating elements themselves. The elements then work on a radiating type of heating method, emitting a significant amount of heat to the surrounding area.
What Are The Benefits Of Infrared Propane Heaters?
Infrared propane heaters are ideal for small spaces where the area that needs to be heated will work better with contact heat, as opposed to circulating heated air. The further you are from the heater, the less of the temperature increase you can feel. Infrared heaters are also ideal for outdoor use. Since they don't rely on blowing out hot air, they are not susceptible to drafts or breezes. This means that, even on a windy day, you can still gain the same amount of beneficial heat standing in front of the heater as you would be able to if the weather was calm. This makes them very popular for small to medium sized outdoor events when specific areas that guests are likely to occupy need to be heated, or even larger events when heating a substantial number of individual tables is necessary, ideal for a small infrared portable heater. Infrared heaters are also extremely popular because they are very compact and easy to store once removed from the connected propane tank. For commercial or residential purposes where the propane tank or tanks will not be store year round with the heating units, this is ideal since they will take up a significantly smaller amount of space than other larger units.
